The evaluation

Careful evaluations, in the client’s own language.

Each evaluation is written to the legal standard of the filing, and conducted at a pace the client can manage.

  • A clinical interview in English or Spanish, across one or more sessions.
  • Standardized psychological assessment is incorporated when clinically appropriate.
  • Evaluations may include objective measures of symptoms and response validity when clinically appropriate.
  • A trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach throughout.

What counsel receives

Comprehensive reports include relevant history, clinical findings, standardized assessment when appropriate, diagnostic impressions, and a clear clinical opinion.

Questions

Common questions.

Is there anything I should or should not say?

There is nothing you are supposed to say and nothing you need to avoid saying. There are no right or wrong answers. The goal is to understand your experiences and current functioning as accurately as possible. The most useful thing you can do is answer honestly, including when the honest answer is that you do not remember something or would rather not talk about it yet.

How long does an evaluation take?

It depends on the case. The interview and any testing may be completed in one session or spread across several, paced to what the client needs. Ask during the free consultation for an estimate for your situation.

How soon can I schedule?

Appointments are typically available within a few days. When a filing deadline is close, an expedited timeline may be possible.

Are virtual assessments available?

Yes. Assessments can be conducted by secure video for clients located anywhere in Illinois, or in person at the Chicago office if you prefer.

Are evaluations available in Spanish?

Yes. Evaluations are conducted directly by the evaluator in Spanish or English, without an interpreter.

How long does the report take?

Reports are generally completed within 7–10 business days after the evaluation is finished.
